Is MCR3U really that important?

Yes. It is the prerequisite for MHF4U Advanced Functions, which is itself the prerequisite for MCV4U Calculus & Vectors. A struggling MCR3U mark is the single most common reason a Grade 12 student cannot apply to engineering or computer science.

My child got 85 in Grade 10 math but is at 68 in MCR3U. Why?

This is the most common pattern we see. Grade 10 rewards procedure; MCR3U rewards understanding. The drop is almost always transformations and trigonometry being learned as rules rather than concepts.

Yes. We work directly from your child's course outline, unit tests and teacher feedback, not a generic workbook.

When should we start MCR3U tutoring?

Ideally in the first three weeks of the semester, before the functions and transformations unit test. Starting after the midterm means we are recovering marks rather than protecting them.
